Dr. Nitin Sankar Pillai is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University Ahmedabad. He earned a Master in English (M.A) from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad and followed it up with a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching English (PGDTE) from EFL University Hyderabad, specializing in English Language Teaching with specific focus on Language Testing and Assessment. He was conferred the Doctoral Degree for his research in the area of Language Assessment from Gujarat University which builds on his previous investigation into the concepts of higher order thinking skills and language assessment as part of his Master of Philosophy title from Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya, Gandhinagar. He has also been awarded an online certification in Language Assessment from University of Maryland, Baltimore. His interest in language assessment has prompted him to present papers in national conferences and to publish research papers in reputed journals. His professional experience extends over 9 years of teaching Post Graduate and Under Graduate Management students. He is also an Examiner for the International English Language Testing System with British Council since 2015. He has been awarded for his Outstanding Contribution to Education by the Indian Council of Literary, Social, Education and Cultural Research and is also the recipient of Justice Ibrahim Shaikh Award and Smt. Shardaben Kharawala Gold Medal for Excellence in Education. He is actively involved in the academic committee, extra curricular & co-curricular committee and placement committee at Faculty of Business Administration at GLS University, Ahmedabad.
