Mamta Pillai is an Assistant Professor in the Science & Humanities Department of Indus University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She teaches subjects such as English Language and Communication, Business Communication and Technical Communication to Engineering Graduates. Her research interest includes linguistics and writing with special focus on developing writing skills. She completed her Bachelors in English and Master in English with Functional English specialization from St. Xavier’s Ahmedabad. She then worked on her Master of Philosophy at H. M Patel Institute of English Training & Research where she focused on identifying and treating mispronounced vowels & consonants. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral research in the domain of improving writing skills and is closely engaged in research. She has 15 research papers presented & published to her credit in national and international conferences and journals of repute. She was recently selected for TKT Training and Certification by AICTE in Delhi in addition to 20 other workshops, faculty development programs and seminars. She was awarded for Outstanding Contribution to towards University Development & advancement of Soft Skills Development Program by the university. She is an active member of Women’s Development Cell, Communication & Media Department & Extra-Curricular activities at her university while also serving as a key member in the Board of Studies for English & Communication.
