About

Dr. Priyanka Kacker is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Institute of Behavioral Science of Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, since 2013. She is teaching and carrying out research in Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology. Currently, her ongoing ICSSR funded research project is on, “Developing a Neuro Signature System Based Profile of Victims of Domestic Violence”. Before joining GFSU she was Lecturer (4 years) in The Department of Psychology, The M.S. University of Baroda, Gujarat. She is a trained hypnotherapist. Also, trained in cognitive electrophysiology and cognitive neuropsychology and is engaged in computerized EEG/ ERP analyses, especially in the use of Brain Electrical Oscillations Signature (BEOS) profiling for the purposes of forensic, neuro and clinical studies. She has been also engaged in computerized cognitive retraining of children and others, who need cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation, especially children with juvenile problems. Micro-expressions link to deception and early detection, intervention, and rehabilitation of Juvenile and Dementia is also part of ongoing studies and research interests. She is a member of the Core Committee of Juvenile Justice Rules of Gujarat Government, which is currently engaged in a developing preliminary assessment module. She has 83 research and other presentations in national and international conferences, and 60 research publications in the above areas. She is a Member of the Editorial Board of the ‘International Journal of Indian Psychology’ and the ‘International Journal for Transformation of Consciousness.’ She is a member of the Lifetime member of the Asia-Pacific Association for Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience, Indian School Psychology Association (InSPA), Grand Academic Portal, also a member of the Executive Committee and Editorial Board of the ‘Cognitive Neuroscience Society of India (CNSI)’. She is an Associate Chief-Editor of newly launched Journal - GAP Indian Journal of Forensics and Behavioural Sciences and Advisor in Counselor Council of India. And is a Govt. of India Registered Counselor. Received various awards including Best Faculty Award at National and International Level.

Services Offered

Apart from regular teaching and research work she imparts training to Police Personnel, Judges, Advocates, Scientific Officers of National and International Departments/Laboratories/Institutes in Forensic and Neuropsychology at the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University. Also, handling Anti-Corruption Cases interrogation at IBS, GFSU.
